Dr Ramanan is a Consulting Psychiatrist with a special interest in ADHD and personality disorder. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He completed his medical training in India and started working in the UK in 1998.
Dr Ramanan has over 20 years’ experience working in psychiatry in the UK, New Zealand and in Australia since 2018. Although, he has worked in forensic psychiatry for several years in the public service, more recently he has been working in Townsville in a busy full-time private practice since March 2020. He will be relocating to Brisbane by January 2024 due to family commitments.
He is passionate about providing holistic, recovery oriented high-quality mental health care, collaborating with families, other specialists and service providers as required to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes for patients and their families.
Dr Ramanan welcomes patients between 18–65-year group. He has extensive experience working with anxiety and mood disorders, PTSD and dissociative disorders. He has also been working with patients under WorkCover and DVA.
