Toby is a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in both public and private mental health sectors. He specialises in treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Adult ADHD and Neurodiversity, and addictions. With advanced knowledge and clinical skills in mental health, Toby excels in conducting independent assessments and prescribing medications, including the titration and monitoring of stimulants following a diagnosis. He is skilled in managing Stimulant Medications, commenced by a Consultant Psychiatrist.He can also help clients in their pathway-to-care to reach a Psychiatrist by conducting a thorough initial assessment and investigations, and then initiating a referral to Psychiatrists for a MBS 291/296 assessment, followed by managing these clients until they are better and stable. The clients will not be required to also see their GPs regarding the mental health issues, which Toby can also manage. Toby earned his Bachelor of Nursing Science from Griffith University and holds both a Master of Mental Health Nursing and a Master of Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Newcastle (UON).
Throughout his career, Toby has worked in diverse settings acute, community, and forensic, addressing the needs of individuals with severe and complex mental health challenges. Toby combines extensive psychotherapy training with a holistic approach to patient care. He is proficient in delivering evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), ensuring that his treatment plans are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Toby provides a cost-effective pathway to care for clients with Neurodiversity and other mental health conditions to reach their objective easily. He has been credentialled to provide this service at Marsai Clinic, along with the other credentialled Psychiatrists, who will be involved in clients’ assessment and management.
